Prenatal Exercise Modifications

Most exercises and activities are safe during an uncomplicated pregnancy, but some may become uncomfortable as your pregnancy progresses. You may find that a particular activity feels great one day but difficult or awkward the next, or you might find yourself needing some adjustments in the third trimester due to the extra weight and the larger size of your belly. Pregnancy is a bit a roller coaster in terms of how you may feel physically. Some days you may feel great and be able to run for miles, and others you may feel discomfort from the first step out your door. Remember to not feel badly about the low points – it is normal and part of being pregnant. The best thing you can do is to listen to your body, make modifications as necessary, and try to keep as active as you comfortably can. And you never know, another high point may just be a day or two away!
