Week 30: I’m glad I’m not an elephant

We’re rounding third and starting for the home stretch. I sometimes think “only 10 weeks left – that’s nothing!” but then othertimes I can’t help but think “10 more weeks – that’s so long!” Being pregnant has been easier than I expected (so far!). The hardest thing has been how long the whole process feels. At least I’m not an elephant (despite my growing belly making me feel like one)…they are pregnant for 22 months!
Yesterday’s doctor’s appointment confirmed everything is going well. My only tasks at the moment are to register at the hospital and to find a pediatrician. I think we found one! We have a prenatal consultation visit next week to meet the doctor and confirm that we like him and the practice.
Workouts are still going strong – nothing new or exciting, but the fact that I’m still able to do them is exciting to me! The amazing weather here in DC is really making me miss running and cycling outdoors. It was much easier to head to spinning class when it was 90+ degrees and 90% humidity outside – ha! I’ve successfully made it to prenatal yoga the past couple of weeks (just once a week though). I’m still not a yoga fan (I wish I were!), but I think it’s useful for the flexibility work and because the instructor is also a doula and gives us suggestions on birthing positions and coping techniques.
Tomorrow the nursery is getting painted 🙂 We’re doing a light gray color and plan to put up this wall decal:
I’m excited to see the room start to come together. I’ll post pictures once we get the furniture (it’s all white to fit with the room theme).
Have a great weekend!
